no words

Words can't even explain how funny my little man is. The other day Aspen (my little sister) was sick so she came over to hang out for the day. My mom was in Oklahoma and dad had to go to work. Let me start off by saying Aspen is Cooper's FAVORITE person. He says her name and signs "aunt" all the time, he gets giddy when he sees her, wants her over anyone, will play with her for hours, no one else even exists when she is around. So he was in heaven having her over all day. Cooper has learned how to unzip his pajamas so they often times come off after he gets up in the morning. As I have mentioned before Cooper is OBSESSED with shoes. He constantly is wanting to put shoes on. This day he chose his church shoes to put on. He hung out like this for a couple of hours. Until he took his diaper off, said "bath" and wanted to go upstairs and take a bath. He was completely content and wouldn't have had it any different. It was hilarious watching him stomp around naked with his boots on. I love his little body and would prefer him without clothes anyways!

Standing Everywhere

Now that Cooper can pull himself up to stand, he refuses to do anything but stand up at things. He has kind of figured out how to get back down which is really just him falling. Because he is trying to figure it out still, he has many accidents where he falls and hits his head or gets scared so he cries. It breaks my heart when he hurts himself but I know he has to learn how to figure these kinds of things out. I mentioned earlier how I had a hard time moving his mattress down because I loved going in and having him standing to greet me. Well he has figured out how to stand again with the mattress lower. He's still little so he has to reach his hands and stretch but he gets up and stands there. I love it! Seeing his cute little face peeking over the top of the crib is the best! Here are some examples of where he insists on standing.

Bath time is more of a process but also more fun at the same time. He is constantly standing up and grabbing at the faucet or just standing and giggling. The many faces of Cooper.

Persistance and an Obsession

I mentioned before how Cooper has an obsession with cords. It doesn't matter what he has to go through to get to a cord he will do it. Here is my proof. And of course he's naked because that seems how he always is half the time.

Cooper and Daddy Time

Cooper is getting to be so big. He can now sit up if you are supporting him. It's nice not having to hold him like a new baby anymore. He only wants to be held like a baby if he is tired and wants to go to sleep. Because he isn't so fragile anymore Brad has gotten way more comfortable holding him and playing with him. Which means more tv watching time for Cooper :) But no it is amazing to watch their relationship grow. I love when I walk in to the room and find Brad on the floor playing and talking with Cooper. I never knew how special it would be to see your husband interacting with your own child. Brad is loving being able to play with Cooper more. His only complaint and one that I also share is that we can't wait for when Cooper stops spitting up. It makes holding and playing with him hard because everyone always ends up covered in spit up :)

Two Firsts!!!

This has been a big week for Cooper. On Sunday October 17th he rolled over for the first time. We were watching the Sunday Night Football game. The Colts were playing. And for the ones who know anything about Brad he NEVER misses a Colts game if it's on tv. Well I was getting ready to put Cooper in his pajamas so he was just hanging out without his diaper on. My child absolutely LOVES being naked. He starts kicking his legs and swinging his arms like crazy and makes these hilarious little noises and faces. I have a video but since he's naked I'm not going to post it. I figured I would let him hang out on a blanket and have some naked tummy time. Besides how can I resist wanting to see his cute little bum. Well as he was laying there he kept bringing his knees up under him and sticking his bum in the air. Almost into a crawl position but his little arms aren't strong enough yet so he kept pushing to his side. He tried for a few minutes to roll to his right but it wasn't working then he went for his left. After a few minutes of kicking his little feet he finally rolled over. It was amazing seeing such a great little victory. Our good friends Nikki and Tim and my dad were all over at our house to witness it along with me and Brad. He hasn't done it again yet but he kicks those little legs and gets up on his knees and sure tries. Now if he could just figure out how to get that dang arm out of the way :)

The other first that we had this week was on Wednesday October 27th Cooper GIGGLED for the very first time. Again I was getting Cooper ready for bed and he was enjoying some naked time. Cooper is a skinny little thing and the only ounce a fat on him is his double chin. So I was kissing his chubby little neck and he giggled. Again my friend Nikki was over and this time Brad wasn't around. Brad and Nikki's husband Tim were helping a friend with some computer stuff so Nikki came over and hung out until the guys were done. I was shocked because he had never giggled before so I thought it was just a fluke. But I kept kissing his neck and chin and he just kept giggling even harder. It was the absolutely CUTEST little giggle that I had ever heard. I know every mom feels that way about their own baby :) But honestly I was in love with his little giggle! Obviously I tried to catch in on the camera but once the camera came out he stopped doing it.

It has been a really big week of milestones and I can't wait to see what is in store for us next.
