Week of Crafts

Two weeks ago was really fun and full of crafting. I made four trips to Hobby Lobby and one to JoAnne's within a week. It started off with me making invitations to a baby shower I am throwing. My brother and his girlfriend Kaitlin are having a baby so I was throwing her a shower. I looked at a ton of invites and decided I would just make them. It was a bit more work but it was a lot of fun. I have being doing card club (Stampin' Up) since last May so I decided to put to use some of the stuff that I had bought.

(The flash kinda of whited out the blue onesie stamps at the bottom)
The inside had a cute "It's A Shower" Stamp with all the info

Next I made some blocks for my new nephews room. Someone made me some for Cooper and they were super cute. So I made them with my friend Amy. She wanted to make some for her baby. I was so happy with how they turned out. I almost wanted to make some for Cooper that looked the exact same, but he already has two sets of blocks with his name on them so I decided I probably shouldn't.
They are going to name him "Holden"

Not only am I having the shower for Kaitlin but my cousin and his wife are having a baby so I needed to make some shower gifts. My friend made me a wipe case cover when I had Cooper and I absolutely loved it. I made some back in November for 4 other showers. Another present that I absolutely loved was my mom had burp rags made for me and as I have mentioned many times, Cooper is famous for his spitting up (7 months and it still hasn't stopped). I have gotten a ton of use out of them. The 3rd thing I made were some bink links. Cooper LOVES his binky so it is always attached to him, otherwise we lose it. I figured I would give some of the things I have loved and gotten the most use out of.

The ones I made for the "BOY" showers in November

The "GIRL" showers

My cousin is obsessed with baseball so these are the ones I made for he and his wife

(I forgot to get pictures of the ones I made for Kaitlin)

The craft that I most proud of is I recovered Kaitlin's glider cushions. I have never recovered anything so I was a bit nervous. We went to the fabric store and picked out the fabric Thursday during the day and I came home and got started right away. Much to my surprise I finished them that night. I just seam ripped the covers that were already on the cushions and used them as my pattern. I was so nervous they wouldn't turn out but they did. Brad kept saying how surprised and impressed he was with how good they looked.

The finished product before they repainted the glider

My final craft of the week was something that I made for Cooper. It was fun making all the other crafts but I realized not one thing was for me or Cooper. So of course I had to make something for us. I had found these crinkly owl teethers on this blog. I was excited to make these so I bought all the stuff when I was at JoAnne's getting the fabric for the glider. They didn't turn out as cute as the ones on the blog. But they still are cute! Cooper absolutely loves them too!

I have only taken up crafts since Cooper was born. I never would have considered myself a crafty person. I probably still wouldn't because I can only copy something someone else has done. I am not creative enough to come up with things on my own. I have been surprised about how fun and rewarding crafting really is. I could do it all day long every day. But I won't because I love playing with my Coop way more!

7 Months!

Time is really flying by so quickly. Cooper is growing so much. Here are some new things Cooper is doing:
  • Eating crackers, teething biscuits, rice rusks
  • Still on level 2 foods
  • Gets fresh fruit in his mesh teething feeder. It makes a mess but he loves it!
  • Getting really close to crawling, gets up on all fours and rocks then face dives until he get where he is wanting to go
  • Has his 2 bottom teeth
  • Is still nursing....good thing because he HATES bottles. But I'm okay with that because I love nursing and I am not ready to give it up!
  • Has never really been sick other than little colds. I didn't think anything of it but my doctor was shocked he has been so healthy and hasn't had to come in for anything. Huge Blessing!!!
  • Still doesn't sleep through the night. Wakes up usually once but sometimes more.
  • Hair is coming in really light. He looks like we have given him a mow hawk because he has a dark strip on the top of his head.
  • Happiest baby I have ever met.
  • Just moved up to size 3 diapers.
  • Still spitting up. It has calmed down some but it is still definitely there!
  • Loves to go shopping. How could he not though because so do both his parents.
Chomping away on his banana

All messy after eating a banana

He just let me put him in this bowl and then just hung out

Coop with Aunt Kaitlin

Coop just hanging out at my cousins baby shower. I put him under this table so he was out of the walk way. He just sat there and played and everyone couldn't believe he could just entertain himself. Do most babies not do this???

He's already a ladies man. These little girls couldn't get enough of him

He backwards pushed himself here then couldn't figure out how to get out

LOVES anything that crinkles

He still gets this little crinkle in his nose and I love it!

When he plays with his toys he throws/pushes them out into a perfect circle just out of his reach. I promise this was real I didn't touch anything!

Eating his first cracker. He has to hold it and feed himself.

Here is a video of us attempting to read him a book before bed but he was already so beyond tired that he had gotten delirious. I ran downstairs got the camera and he was still going when I got back.

Cooper up on all fours. He normally is only at his knees but here he took it a step farther.

It has been an amazing 7 months!

Happy Valentines Day!

This Valentines Day is a bit different than the previous years. Normally I only focus on Brad but this year we have Cooper. It is amazing the love that we have for our little monkey. Before having Cooper I honestly couldn't imagine loving something/someone as much as I love Cooper. That sounds awful and like I don't love Brad. But the love you have for your child is an entirely different kind of love than the one you have for your spouse. I never get tired of looking at and kissing Cooper. Everyday is a new and more amazing experience than the day before and I just fall more in love with him. The more he grows the more my love for him grows. It is just amazing watching him learn new things and become his own little person.

Valentines Day is pretty low key around our house. We just do cards and something small. Brad isn't a big fan of Valentines Day. My favorite present was Cooper gave daddy a picture frame with a picture in it so daddy could have a picture of him on his desk at work. He already has the wallpaper on both of his computer screens set to pictures of Cooper, but his desk needed one :)

For Valentines I got Cooper this monkey. I have looked for a cute monkey stuffed animal for awhile now. I figured it was only fitting to get him one since I have called him monkey since he was born. When I found this one I had to get it. It was just too cute to pass up.

Cooper was so happy about his monkey (you can see his two teeth in this picture)

He just kept kissing his monkey....I was dying laughing it was so adorable!

Here is the video of me giving Coop his monkey. Brad was already at work so I wanted him to see how excited he was!

I love both of my guys more than words can say. I am so blessed to have them both in my life. I have a loving and hard working husband who provides for us so I can stay home and raise our family. I have an adorable baby boy who loves me more than anything. Nothing is better than seeing him light up when he sees me. He is such a happy baby. I am so lucky!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!!

Coop's 6 Month Photos

I have felt like a horrible parent because we have never gotten Cooper's pictures taken. Yes we have thousands of pictures that we have taken, but it just isn't the same. We attempted to do a 5 day old photo shoot but it kind of ended in disaster. He was fussy the whole time, peed and pooped all over himself and me, only was happy if he had his binky and was wide awake the whole time. So I was determined to get 6 month photos done. Luckily my good friend Amy takes pictures and she was willing to do them for me. I went over to her house and it was actually a lot of fun taking his pictures. Pictures are so much more fun now that he can sit up by himself, smile, and react to things. He was happy most of the time and I am so glad that we got some adorable pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

He makes this new face where he flattens out his bottom jaw. I think it's because of the teething.

This is Cooper throwing a fit. Flailing his arms and all!

Had to get one with the football gear

I had to get one of this cute little bum
