How are my teefies???

Today was Cooper's first trip to the dentist. When we were at his 12 month check up his pediatrician reccommended taking him to see a pediatric dentist. The alignment on his bottom teeth is off. She didn't think there was anything that could be done. She just wanted to get them checked out. She recommended me to Dr. Barney Olsen. He has a program where he sees children 3 and under free. So I made my appointment and went to him. I don't know if I will keep going there however. I loved his office but the location isn't great. It is up in Cottonwood Heights. And he wasn't my favorite doctor that I have seen. There is a really cute pediatric dentist office right by my house that my friend works at that I think I am going to try. Cooper is good for another year however so I have awhile to decide. Right now Cooper has 11 teeth. 4 top, 4 bottom, and 3 of his 1-year old molars (the 4th one is about to pop thru). Molars have not been the greatest. He has been waking up in the middle of the night because of them. But we are almost done!

It was a super quick appointment. Dr. Olsen just looked as his teeth. Cooper did not like this one bit. He screamed the whole time. It was only like 30 seconds but still he SCREAMED! He said they look very healthy and there is nothing to worry about. They are just crowded and they won't improve. So just to wait and see what his permanent teeth look like. I am doing everything that I am supposed to with Cooper's teeth. That was a relief! We brush them twice a day, never put him to bed with a cup, he doesn't get juice hardly ever, brush his teeth with a toothpaste that doesn't have flouride, and we have cut back on his binky. I was very surprised they recommend being done with the binky by 3 years old. Doesn't that seem like way too long to have a binky? Cooper only gets it in his bed and I am already thinking about kicking that habit too.

We have been brushing Cooper's teeth in the morning and at night before bed since he got his first tooth. He hasn't always been a fan of getting his teeth brushed but he loves it now. He likes to even do it himself. His toothbrush is one of his favorite things to play with. His teeth can't get too clean right? :)

I may be a nerd but we got this awesome tooth time table that shows depending on the age what teeth they should have and how many are permanent and baby teeth. It is nice because now I know what teeth he should be getting at one age.



I was bummed I forgot to take my camera so didn't get a picture of Cooper at his first dentist appointment. But here he is with his new toothbrush. He LOVES it!

Our Favorite Store.......COSTCO!!!!!

Costco is one of our absolute favorite stores! I could spend all day walking around and looking at stuff at Costco. I'm not exaggerating either. This week Cooper and I went to Costco THREE TIMES! We went on Tuesday with my mom, yesterday with Amy, and today with daddy!!! Each time we went for a specific purpose. I wasn't just going to go. I am not that pathetic people! Cooper loves Costco just as much as I do. It is like a playground for him. He can walk around and there is so much for him to look at. Especially right now because there are sooo many toys for the holidays! He loves helping me push the cart around too. Yesterday he found this box and started pushing it around. Then he got in the box and loved getting pushed around. I probably looked like a fool doing it but my baby loved it. And I was doing it in a aisle that wasn't busy so I wasn't bugging people.

I don't like putting Cooper in the hot car while I am loading all my purchases into the car. So I usually let him hang out in the cart. On this particular day he was riding in the back of the cart and got into the diaper bag. He found my sunglasses and started putting them on. I couldn't help but pause for a photo shoot. I try to always have my camera with me in the diaper bag. I can't stand to miss precious little moments like these.

High School Football Games

We have gone to a couple of high school football games the past couple of weeks. Brad and our neighbor Tim decided it would be a fun idea to go to a football game at each of our high schools. Taylorsville for me, Olympus for Nikki, Highland for Tim, and Copper Hills for Brad. Since Brad didn't go to high school here we decided we would go to the high school that all of the kids in our ward go to. Last week we went to the Copper Hills game because it was their homecoming game. Then last night we went to the Highland game. Both games were a lot of fun. It brought back a ton of memories of being in high school. But also how annoying high school kids can be :) Cooper really enjoyed being in that atmosphere with the music and all of the people. It would have been a nightmare however if Cooper wasn't walking. He was all over the place and would have been so dirty had he been crawling.

Before each game we had to go to the place where all the high school kids ate before the games when we were in high school. So for the Copper Hills game we started at Five Guys. Since none of us went to Copper Hills we just picked somewhere random :)

Then we were off to the Copper Hills game. Since it was homecoming and a rivalry game it was packed. I think this made it more exciting and fun. It was cool because we saw a lot of the youth in our ward. Nikki and I are both in Young Womens so it was nice because we know all of the youth in our ward.

Cooper did really well for the first little bit but then he got restless and wanted to explore. We took him and let him wander around. It was freezing but he didn't mind one bit. It was a blow out so we left during the 3rd quarter which was good because Cooper was so tired. It was way past his bedtime.

For the Highland game we started off with eating at the The Training Table. Cooper had not really had a good nap that day so he was really tired. He did not want Brad as you can see. He just wanted mom to hold him. I didn't mind one bit! Brad and Cooper both ended up in jeans and navy polos. It was totally unplanned but funny. This happens all of the time though!

Once we got to the game Cooper was fine. He was now so tired that he had become delirious so everything was hilarious and so fun to him. They were supporting breast cancer awareness. The cheerleaders were decked out in pink and their cheers were even centered around it. One of their cheers was "Mammograms, breast exams, I am the cure". They were cute! They handed out stickers so of course we had to put it on Coop's head. He didn't even notice and left it on the entire time. This game wasn't as packed so we had a lot of room on the bleachers for Cooper to walk around and play on. He had a blast!

We left this game in the 3rd quarter as well. Cooper was getting really tired and ready for bed. Cooper normally goes to bed at 8:00 pm so staying out past then sometimes is a struggle. The second we got in the car Cooper was out! No fussing or anything. It was a relief and made the drive home pleasant.

Going to the games has been a fun Friday night family activity that we can all enjoy. I LOVE football and going to games so it is right up my ally. Good idea Brad!!!

Gardner Village

This week Coop and I went to Gardner Village with some friends. We wanted to go walk around all the little stores before it got too crazy in October. They have a ton Witch events at Gardner Village so October is a big month for people to go. I bought a few things and got a TON of ideas for things to make! I even got inspiration and ideas for my Halloween costume that I am going to attempt to make :) Cooper did so good. I bought a new fold up stroller. I was so sick of carting my big stroller around and now that he is bigger I thought it was time for a smaller one. He LOVED his new stroller. It sat him up more like a big boy and I think he liked it better. It made maneuvering around the stores so much easier as well! In the middle of shopping we got hungry so we ate at the Naborhood Bakery there in Gardner Village. It was really good.

After we ate I let Cooper get out and wander around to get some energy out before we did more shopping. There were pumpkins everywhere and he loved it. He would go over to them and say "ball" to every single one. Then he started picking them up and carrying them around. It was so cute to watch him.

We had a really good time! I can't wait to go back when they put out all of the Christmas decorations instead of Halloween. I absolutely love being able to go do things like this during the day wit my little boy!

Craft-tastic!

So I have been doing a lot of crafts lately. Mostly for holiday decorating. I really enjoy crafting. I get so much pride in saying that I made something or seeing it in my house and knowing the work that was put into it. Here are some of my recents.

Here is my most favorite wreath that I have made. It has nothing to do with the holidays but it is what has been on my door for the past month. I am really sad I have to take it down to put up my Halloween wreath!

The next crafts are from The Wood Connection. If you have never been there you HAVE to go! It is amazing! They have all these different ideas for every holiday and even just for day to day stuff. I have made some things for just normal decorating but these are things that I made for Fall/Halloween.







I bought the blocks for my next decoration off Pick Your Plum. Then I decorated them with the paper and put the vinyl on.

I didn't post all of our decorations because that would be boring. I just wanted to share the new stuff that I made for this year. We get so excited to decorate for the holidays around our house. It is so fun getting the decorations out and remembering what we have. It puts us in the mood and makes us excited for the holiday seasons. Our home now feels all ready for fall!

I'm Ready For Bed

I have been doing Baby Signing Time with Cooper. It is his absolute favorite. He is learning so much. The newest thing we have learned is going to sleep. It is amazing! You just ask Cooper if he is ready for bed and he signs sleep (brushing your hand down your face) and wants to go upstairs to his room. You lay him down and he goes right to bed. I LOVE it! He knows it is time for bed and recognizes when he is ready to go to sleep. Here is a video I caught this morning. He was really tired so he didn't sign it as good as he normally does. But you get the point. Enjoy!
