Cooper's 2 Year Pics

I had Cooper's 2-year pictures taken back on July 6th. I had them taken at Camera Shy. Brad's sister Karrin knows the owner and recommended it. I was nervous how pictures would go. Cooper's track record for pictures is not great. Getting him to smile and show his personality is nearly impossible. I took my sister Aspen with me to help. Since she is Cooper's favorite person I thought it might make him happy. Well we got there for our 3:00 appointment and boy was he grumpy! He was crying and would not have anything to do with the photographer. I was devastated! I tried bribing him with a sucker and at first that didn't even work. Then they brought a second person in to help get his attention. He refused to sit where they wanted him to. He had to choose the chair and the background (hence the green chair with blue wall). They just started taking pictures and all of a sudden he thought the flash was HILARIOUS!!!! He wasn't to keen on holding still so was kind of just running around the room like a mad man. Although he had to keep the sucker for all the pictures we still managed to get some amazing pictures that show Cooper's personality. There was no posing involved. All of these poses are 100% Cooper! They edited the pictures and then I came back and got them an hour later. I was so excited and impressed with Camera Shy. I will definitely being going back there for sure!!! Here are some of my favorites. Beware I had lots of favorites!!!!

South Jordan City Days

Our friends Matt, Beth, Anna and Layla invited us to South Jordan City Days with them back in June. This was our first carnival/fair of the year. The weather was perfect and Cooper was in a good mood so this made for a perfect night. We ate corn dogs, italian ice, huge greasy cheese fries, rode rides, Cooper rode his first pony, we watched fireworks and just had a blast. I love that Cooper is older this year and understands what is going on and really enjoys himself. It is so much more fun doing these things as a parent and being able to experience it with your own child.

Here is a video of us on the ferris wheel. This sucker went really fast. So every time we would come over the top you got that stomach drop feeling and Cooper did not like it. I felt so bad but there was nothing we could do!

warm weather

Wow!!!!! Came across this lost post. It is from the end of last winter.

A couple of days ago we had a really nice day.
It got up into the high 5o's. So I took full advantage of it.
We went with Amy and Emmett on a walk to a park in a neighbor close to me.
Cooper loved being outside. He was taking everything in.
When we got to the park he couldn't get to everything fast enough.
We went down the slide...over and over and over and over.
He can climb up and do it himself so it is way nice.
He had fun swinging.
What I think he loved most was just running around the field like a crazy man.

Busy Bag Exchange

I came across this idea a while back of a Busy Bag Exchange. A Busy Bag Exchange is really just a a group of people get together and each person makes multiple of the same bag (one for each person). They are just activities to keep toddlers busy. Each bag should be around $1. The quality of bag you do needs to be what you expect in return. At the end each person has 23 (the amount in my case) different activities to keep their kids entertained. It is way cheaper to buy the supplies to make one thing rather than all the different supplies needed for all of these bags. Not to mention the time that you save!

I knew instantly that I wanted to do one. I was hesitant though about putting one together and having to be the one responsible for it all. After a few months I finally decided it was time. I put word out on Facebook and I couldn't believe the response I got. In the end I had 23 people (including me) that signed up. I put together a google doc with all the ideas I had gathered as well as a link they could go to, to view the ideas. Each person had to sign up for the one they wanted. I gave a deadline on signing up. This way we had an exact count and people could get started on their bags. The exchange took place on June 23rd. I was pleasantly surprised that every single person followed through and made their bags. The bags turned out soooo cute. I was so excited with how they all turned out! Here are all of the bags. Cooper has had his hands on all of them so they aren't in perfect condition anymore.
